Please join us for our weekly Heart Wisdom Panel this Wednesday, February 24th at 1:30pm PST! This week our panel is focused on the theme of Black joy with special guests Kelvin Davis, M.J. Fievre & Jasmine Respess with Sherry Richert Belul as our facilitator.
Kelvin Davis, author of “Notoriously Dapper: How to Be a Modern Gentleman with Manners, Style and Body Confidence,” has created a body positive style guide for men and has been featured in top-ranked media sources such as The New York Times, Glamour Magazine, BuzzFeed, and Huffington Post.
M.J. Fievre is the author of “Badass Black Girl: Questions, Quotes, and Affirmations for Teens” (Mango Publishing, 2020) and “Happy, Okay? Poems about Anxiety, Depression, Hope, and Survival” (Books & Books Press, 2019). She helps others write their way through trauma, build community, and create social change.
Jasmine Respess is a Florida native who writes about the intersections of her black Southern and Caribbean identities. At The New College of Florida, Respess spent her undergrad career as a journalist, so she utilizes interviews of family members and research in much of her work. The tradition of magical realism has inspired her, and she explores folktales and lore in her poems and non-fiction pieces.
Sherry Richert Belul, author of “Say it Now: 33 Creative Ways to Say I Love You to the Most Important People in Your Life,” is the founder of Simply Celebrate, a business dedicated to helping people live colorful, connected, creative lives of love and appreciation.
Come join our conversation and share in a thought-provoking conversation. The authors will take questions from the audience.
This is a virtual panel, held on Zoom. Please arrive early. To register, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org or ‘email@example.com’ and they will send you the link.

In this journal designed for teenage Black girls, MJ Fievre tackles topics such as family and friends, school and careers, body image, and stereotypes. By reflecting on these topics, you will confront the issues that can hold you back from living your best life and discovering your Black girl bliss.
Embrace authenticity and celebrate who you are. Finding the courage to live as you are is not easy, so here’s a journal designed to help you nurture creativity, positive self-awareness and Black girl bliss. This journal honors the strength and spirit of Black girls.
How to Be a Modern Gentleman with Manners, Style and Body Confidence
The modern gentleman: Being a true modern gentleman and a genuine class act is increasingly rare. It is also more important now than ever before. What worked for the Rat Pack and the Brat Pack won’t work for you and truth be told, it won’t work for anyone because that is old school. Manliness in the modern era is worth learning about and the dividends will pay off for a lifetime. Not only will you bring joy to all those around you, you’ll be happier, too. Once you master this, you’ll live the good life.
