Heart Wisdom Panel: Love + Forgiveness
December 2, 2020 @ 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm PST
Please join us for our weekly Heart Wisdom panel this Wednesday, December 2nd at 1:30 pm PST!
This panel will be moderated by Nita Sweeney and will feature Marlena Fiol and Judy Ford.
The session will focus on the topics of love and forgiveness and how we can bring both of those concepts into our lives on a daily basis.
Judy Ford MSW is a best selling author, mother, friend and inspirational role model. She has been studying love and relationships for over three decades specializing in love, loss and the things that matter most. She is author of “Wonderful Ways to Love a Child” and “Wonderful Ways to Love a Teen Even When It Seems Impossible.”
Celebrated scholar, speaker, and author Marlena Fiol shares an up close and personal look into one person’s journey from fear and anger to compassion. Her book, “Nothing Bad Between Us,” reveals her deeply personal story about growing up on a leprosy compound in Paraguay, South America, with a father who was both a generous, dedicated healer and a brutal disciplinarian. After escaping to the U.S., Marlena stumbled from one disaster to another before finding forgiveness and reconciliation.
Award-winning wellness author Nita Sweeney writes, runs, meditates, and lives in Columbus, Ohio with her husband, Ed and their yellow Labrador retriever, Scarlet. Her running and mental health memoir “Depression Hates a Moving Target” was released in 2019 and the writing journal “You Should be Writing” was coauthored with Brenda Knight in 2020.
Inspired Ideas for Raising Happy, Healthy Children
We are all living in a stressful and fast-paced world, and it is easy to forget the little and big ways to tend to and nurture your relationships with your children. Luckily, Oprah Winfrey Show favorite and award-winning author Judy Ford has helped thousands of families live more happily and raise stronger and more resilent children. She has channeled her expertise into Wonderful Ways to Love a Child to help parents across the world improve their relationships with their beloved children.
A Mennonite Missionary’s Daughter Finds Healing in Her Brokenness
This story differs from similar accounts of childhood domination or abuse because it tells the story of the author’s seemingly paradoxical responses to the powerful forces in my life, but doesn’t leave it at that. It sheds light on the social and religious dynamics underlying these responses, giving readers insights into and understanding of her otherwise incomprehensible choices, as she found my way back into loving relationships with her parents and the Mennonite community.

You’ll find plenty of great advice, such as Toni Morrison’s encouragement, “As a writer, a failure is just information. It’s something that I’ve done wrong in writing, or is inaccurate or unclear. I recognize failure—which is important; some people don’t—and fix it.”
