Join Dr. Greg Sazima live for an interactive, virtual introduction to his new book, Practical Mindfulness: A Physician’s No-Nonsense Guide to Meditation for Beginners (Mango Press, 2021).
Dr. Sazima will share the backstory behind and mission of Practical Mindfulness:
- his passion for meditation as an essential training in the capacity for mindful awareness,
- his own personal story in using meditation to navigate the challenge of aggressive cancer, and
- “paying forward” the benefits in creating a guide that demystifies mindfulness and lowers the bar to starting a sustainable, fruitful practice.
Greg will share readings and anecdotes from Practical Mindfulness, lead attendees through some basic guided meditation exercises, and be available for Q&A.
Greg Sazima, MD is a psychiatrist, educator, and author, based in Northern California. He teaches physicians-in-training at Stanford’s Family Medicine Residency Program. He volunteers on the non-profit boards of Snowline Hospice and Capital Public Radio, both in the Sacramento region.
