The Greatest Gifts

(Author of The Twelve Gifts From the Garden) Charlene Costanzo says we can gift ourselves the gift of peace and forgiveness.

I wish we would all forgive ourselves for all the times we thought of ourselves as not strong enough, not good enough, not thin enough, not smart enough, not pretty enough, or just not enough in any way. Enough of that. We are enough.”

     – from “Scrambled Eggs with a Side of Compassion,” The Twelve Gifts from the Garden

Forgiveness. “It’s one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself, to forgive,” said Maya Angelou.  “Forgive everybody.”

Several times throughout this day, let’s breathe mindfully and purposely, while sincerely intending to let go of all regrets and resentments. Judgments, too. Lingering upsets and fresh ones. When we do this, we’ll give ourselves a degree of peace. It may be a little. It may be a lot. Either way, peace is also one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves.

With love and compassion,
Charlene
