“They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.” ~Tom BodettWhat do you say? Someone I love shared this quote with me.* And she pointed out that it pertains to three of The Twelve Gifts: love, talent, and hope. It’s true for me that I’m happy when I’m giving and receiving love, using my talent, and my hope is strong. In fact, I need to love, use my abilities, and hope. How about you?I have needed strength and courage too. They helped me heal. Joy did too. And beauty. I need compassion too. And I have felt so grateful and joyful to be human when I have been compassionate with another human being. Even when things are tough, living is a grand thing when we care for one another. I could make a case for all 12 gifts, of course. But for today, let’s love, use our talents, and hold hope. Let’s nourish and encourage hope in one another too. Hope is powerful and needed now. Along with love. With reverence, Charlene*I always welcome hearing your favorite quotes, folks. THE FIFTH GIFT IS HOPE: Through each passage and season may you trust the goodness of life. – from The Twelve Gifts of Birth |
