(Author of The Twelve Gifts from the Garden) Charlene Costanzo helps us find joy in the growing of inner delight!

“Not by appointment do we meet Delight And Joy; they heed not our expectancy; But round some corner in the streets of life, They, on a sudden, clasp us with a smile.” – Gerald Massey
Joyful delight met me unexpectedly yesterday. Just like that. All of a sudden.
It happened when I encountered a large Monarch butterfly in the perennial area of a garden center. She flew over my shoulder and alighted upon a milkweed plant in front of me.
My joy grew as we moved companionably, she flitting from flower to flower, sipping and sampling their nectars as I considered which ones to buy.
Edward Everett Hale’s words help us understand why such simple experiences bring us delight:
“…in the flight of the butterfly, in the chirping of a tree-toad, or the sweep of an eagle – my life loves to see how others live, exults in their joy…”
Let us see how others live and exult in the joy of all creatures.
“You deserve delight,” says Mark Victor Hansen.
Amen,
Charlene
